After ASVEL women’s team elimination in the La Boulangère Wonderligue quarter-finals, the Lyon club is restructuring. According to Le Progrès, Jess-Mine Zodia (1.90 m, 20 years old), French international player from Bourges training center and playoff semi-finalist this season with Tarbes, will replace Dominique Malonga, who is leaving for Fenerbahçe.
ASVEL women’s team continues its deep transformation after a season marked by numerous departures. Dominique Malonga will join Fenerbahçe, while Juste Jocyte should be followed to Girona, Spain, by Laura Quevedo (1.85 m, 29 years old) adds Le Progrès. Additionally, Francesca Pasa, Soana Lucet and Justine Mouyokolo are being released while Kekelly Elenga (1.86 m, 34 years old) should terminate her contract (established until June 30, 2026) to join her younger sister Sophia at Chartres.
To strengthen its interior sector, the Lyon club will rely on Jess-Mine Zodia, who had a great season with Tarbes, championship semi-finalist. The French international, included in the extended squad for Euro 2025, averaged 11.1 points with 51.3% shooting, 5.6 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 11.8 evaluation in 27 minutes over 21 La Boulangère Wonderligue games.
After spending time at Bourges training center between 2019 and 2023, the Île-de-France native will join an ambitious project at ASVEL. She thus succeeds Malonga at position 5, with the goal of quickly establishing herself in Yoann Cabioc’h’s roster.
Still according to Le Progrès, coach Yoann Cabioc’h will also be able to count on Dayshanette Harris (1.70 m, 24 years old), who extends after an encouraging first European season (averaging 10.7 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.5 assists).
Furthermore, ASVEL will continue to bet on its young talents: Téa Cléante (1.76 m, 19 years old), under contract until 2027, Aïnhoa Risacher (1.85 m, 17 years old), who should sign her first professional contract, and Lana Bentoumi (1.84 m, 18 years old), captain of the prospects and U18 teams, will complete the professional squad.
In a context of extensive renewal, ASVEL women’s team seems ready to launch a new dynamic around its youth and its new interior asset, Jess-Mine Zodia.
