
Mouhammadou Jaiteh, ties record with perfect game for Monaco against Barcelona

After a perfect performance against FC Barcelona, Mouhammadou Jaiteh (2.11 m, 30 years) was named co-MVP of Game 2 of the EuroLeague quarter-finals. The French center shares this honor with Shane Larkin, Anadolu Efes Istanbul’s point guard, who holds the record for most MVP of the round awards.
For the first time in his EuroLeague career, Mouhammadou Jaiteh earned the MVP of the round award. During AS Monaco’s decisive victory over FC Barcelona (92-79), the French big man played a perfect game, scoring 20 points on 9/9 two-point shooting, 2/2 free throws, along with 4 rebounds, 2 steals, and 1 assist in less than 16 minutes. His performance index rating of 27, which equals his personal best in the competition, earned him this honor shared with Shane Larkin.

For his part, Anadolu Efes Istanbul’s American guard led his team to a comeback victory (76-79) on Panathinaikos’ court, with 20 points (1/2 on two-pointers, 4/6 on three-pointers, 6/7 free throws), 5 assists, 3 rebounds, and 1 steal. Larkin, who now has 19 MVP of the round awards – an absolute record – wins this distinction for the second time this season.
Behind them, Nigel Hayes-Davis (Fenerbahçe) also shined with a performance index rating of 26 in his team’s victory against Paris Basketball (89-72). Finally, another Monaco player, Alpha Diallo, and Mario Hezonja (Real Madrid) complete the top 5 players of Game 2, each with a performance index rating of 24.
