After Nolan Traore, Joan Beringer (6’11 », 18 years old) informed Jonathan Givony of ESPN that he has declared for the 2025 NBA Draft. The French big man, who started playing basketball less than four years ago, is consistently projected as a first-round pick in various mock drafts. Highly focused and excellent on defense, the Alsatian can become a highly regarded rim protector in the NBA, while being a dangerous finisher on pick & rolls.
Last summer, Joan Beringer left SIG Strasbourg to join Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana. Coached by Zvezdan Mitrovic, the center became a starter despite only playing in the U21 league in 2023-2024. In his role as a defensive anchor, he averaged 4.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, 0.2 assists in 19 EuroCup games and shows similar numbers in the Adriatic League (4.6 points, 4.1 rebounds, 0.6 assists in 28 games).
NEWS: French center Joan Beringer, a projected top-20 pick, will enter the 2025 NBA draft, he told ESPN.
Beringer, the third youngest prospect in this class, has emerged as one of Europe’s best shot-blockers in his first pro basketball season.
