After two successful seasons with ESBVA-LM, crowned by a European title, Aminata Gueye (1.90m, 22 years old) will have her first experience abroad by joining Zaragoza. At just 22, the French center continues on an upward trajectory. Meanwhile, the transfer market in La Boulangère Wonderligue and LF2 is already in full swing with several moves, including those of Élodie Naigre, Hélène Jakovljevic and Julie Wojta.

Aminata Gueye heads to Zaragoza after European title

Trained at Mondeville and emerging in LFB since 2019, Aminata Gueye has had a career marked by impressive milestones. After playing for Toulouse in 2022-23, she confirmed her potential at Villeneuve-d’Ascq this season, contributing to ESBVA-LM’s EuroCup victory. The Northern France native will now continue her career with Zaragoza. The Spanish championship continues to attract many LBWL talents.

This international opportunity rewards a constantly improving profile. Note that she had an impressive season at Mondeville (averaging 11 points and 6.5 rebounds) before a knee injury sidelined her for a year.

Transfer market heats up: Naigre to Bourges, Wojta to Basket Landes…

Across the League, several notable moves have been confirmed. Elodie Naigre (Lattes-Montpellier) is expected at Bourges after a solid campaign (10.0 points and 3.4 rebounds in 21 games). The versatile center will strengthen a rebuilding Tango squad as Monique Akoa-Makani (1.79m, 24 years old) and Maeva Djaldi-Tabdi (1.87m, 26 years old) are already announced for Bourges’ 2024-25 roster.

In Tarbes, center Catherine Mosengo-Masa (1.92m, 28 years old) arrives with her averages of 4.5 points and 4.7 assists at Saint-Amand in LF2. Landerneau Bretagne Basket (LBB) has signed two LF2 reinforcements: Hélène Jakovljevic (1.77m, 24 years old) from Aulnoye and Rebecca Tsobgny (1.65m, 21 years old) from Montbrison, two promising point guards. At LBB, they will replace another young point guard, Laura Evrard (1.65m, 20 years old) who will take on a new challenge at La Roche-Vendée to continue her development.

At Basket Landes, Julie Wojta (1.83m, 35 years old) will join from ASVEL Féminin. She will reunite with Leila Lacan, with whom she played at Angers in 2023-24. The American averaged 8.1 points, 6.3 rebounds and 3 assists this season.

An already busy offseason

Many transfers are expected this offseason, as the league faces a talent drain abroad but can compensate with promising young players. As playoffs approach, clubs are already fine-tuning their rosters for 2025.
