Tough blow for Cholet Basket. Chris-Ebou Ndow (1.98m, 31 years old), one of the key players for the 2024-2025 roster, has suffered a serious chest injury and could miss the rest of the season, including playoffs, reports Ouest-France. In Betclic ELITE, he was averaging 8.6 points and 5.4 rebounds in 23 games.
Injured in the chest area during a training session this Thursday, Chris-Ebou Ndow must undergo additional tests to determine the exact duration of his absence. It could be a season-ending injury for our Norwegian power forward.

While Cholet Basket is still in contention for a Top 4 spot in Betclic ELITE, the club faces another setback. After Bastien Vautier’s injury in late March, now Chris-Ebou Ndow joins the injured list. The Norwegian forward got hurt during Thursday’s noon practice. According to Ouest-France, he has suffered a pectoral muscle injury and might not play again this season.
Already ruled out for the home game against Nanterre this Saturday, Ndow needs to undergo additional tests, but initial reports are pessimistic. « Injured in the chest area, Chris-Ebou Ndow must undergo additional tests to determine the exact duration of his unavailability. It could be a season-ending injury for our Norwegian forward, » the club stated.
Chris-Ebou Ndow played an important role in Cholet’s rotation this season. In Betclic ELITE, he averaged 8.6 points, 5.4 rebounds and 0.8 assists in 23 appearances. In FIBA Europe Cup, his statistics were similar: 8.4 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1 assist in 14 games. A consistent and valuable contribution, especially at the forward position.
With this injury, Cholet now needs to find not one, but two medical replacements. And the task appears complicated. « We’re already struggling to find one replacement player, I have trouble imagining we could recruit two, » club director Cédric Colbaut told Ouest-France.
Ndow’s injury does allow Cholet to broaden its search to the Bosman market, since the Norwegian international isn’t JFL-status. However, the market remains limited at this stage of the season, and serious options seem scarce.
