Limoges CSP already sees bigger: a sharply increased budget and a project taking shape

Limoges CSP didn’t wait to be mathematically safe to look to the future. After a difficult season sportwise, the Limoges club could almost secure its survival this Sunday with a victory against BCM Gravelines-Dunkerque. But behind the scenes, major moves have already begun, with an ambitious strategy revealed by Le Populaire du Centre.

Towards a new cycle, with increased resources
For its second season under Lionel Peluhet’s governance, CSP is preparing to start a new development phase. This season’s economic objective has been achieved, thanks to a 600,000 euro reduction in expenses and a 400,000 euro increase in marketing revenue compared to last season, as explained by Executive President Xavier Bonnafy to Le Populaire du Centre. Additionally, the club owner made a capital increase of 550,000 euros.
Result: a budget « considerably higher » than this season’s is announced for 2025-2026, with stated ambitions of returning to the playoffs in the short term. The identity of the new executive director, chosen from 87 applications by a specialized firm, will also be revealed in early May, along with the project’s outline.
Encore un p’tit effort ! 🙌

A complaint filed against unknown persons for abnormal management acts
While the future looks clearer, the past continues to haunt the club. According to Le Populaire du Centre, Limoges CSP recently filed a complaint against unknown persons for « abnormal management acts, » targeting facts discovered under the previous management. This approach aims to legally protect the institution, while the Interdepartmental Police Directorate (DIPN) investigation into suspicions of financial misconduct is still ongoing.
The Limoges club now hopes to quickly secure its survival on the court, to fully focus on implementing a project that finally seems more stable and ambitious.
