A brilliant season for the « Prince of Paris »
After joining from ESSM Le Portel in summer 2023, Nadir Hifi quickly found his place in the talented Paris roster. Used as a bench player by his staff, the Strasbourg native established himself as one of the most unpredictable guards of the season on the European stage. In 34 games, he averaged 14.7 points, 2.1 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 3 drawn fouls, while providing spectacular sequences with his bold playing style.
It was particularly his consistency and offensive impact that convinced voters. Hifi finished the season as the top scorer among players eligible for the Rising Star trophy.
« I don’t think there’s another player who has evolved so quickly »
Beyond the numbers, his role in Paris Basketball’s historic qualification for the playoffs also weighed in the decision. This award crowns an impressive journey for the player already nicknamed the « Prince of Paris », who continues to progress rapidly since his time at ESSM Le Portel.
« I’m very happy with what’s happened to me these past four years, » he repeated Saturday night in Bourg-en-Bresse. « I don’t think there’s another player who has evolved so quickly. I’m well surrounded, I think I’m on the right path. I’ve confirmed with a good year in EuroLeague, I’ve been very effective. »
A symbol for French basketball
With this trophy, Nadir Hifi joins a prestigious circle that includes names like Luka Dončić, Bogdan Bogdanović and Nikola Mirotić. Most importantly, he becomes the first French player to win this title, which speaks volumes about the player’s progression and Paris Basketball’s rising influence on the continental stage.
While summer commitments could lead him to join the French national team, Nadir Hifi has many missions ahead with Paris Basketball. Starting with qualifying his team for the EuroLeague quarterfinals. First opportunity this Tuesday evening at Real Madrid.
