Axel Toupane is a small forward. Son of coach Jean-Aimé Toupane, he began his career at SIG Strasbourg before heading to the G-League. His strong performances in the NBA development league earned him contracts in the major league, with Denver and then New Orleans. Later seen in EuroLeague with Zalgiris Kaunas and Olympiacos, he moved down a tier in 2019-2020 by signing with Malaga. After reviving his career at Strasbourg and in the G-League, the French international (bronze medalist at the 2019 World Cup) found his way back to the NBA with Milwaukee, where he became champion in 2021. After this North American experience, he returned to France and Paris before joining the neighboring club Metropolitans 92 in 2023.
