Chalon: Olivier Cortale out for 4 to 6 weeks

Elan Chalon will be without their big man Olivier Cortale (2.07m, 28 years old) for 4 to 6 weeks due to a fracture in his 3rd metacarpal. He had already missed the loss against ASVEL last Sunday (116-95). This is bad news for Chalon, who finds themselves weakened in the frontcourt without the former Boulazac player, even though this season he only plays 12 minutes per game on average, contributing 4 points and 2.4 rebounds. At the beginning of the season, he almost left for Pro B.

In the race for playoffs
Elan Chalon is in the race for the Betclic ELITE play-in, currently sitting 11th with a 10-13 record, the same as 10th-placed Dijon and 9th-placed Nanterre. There are 7 games left before the end of the regular season. Chalon-sur-Saône can still aim for a direct playoff spot, even though 6th-placed Le Mans is 3 wins ahead. Elan’s next game will be at home against Cholet, who is 3rd in the championship with the same record as ASVEL, Monaco and Paris.
