Joffrey Lauvergne relieved: only 3 to 5 weeks out for ASVEL’s center

After leaving the game with a left knee injury Sunday evening in Monaco, Joffrey Lauvergne (6’11 », 33 years old) was reassured by his MRI results on Monday: ASVEL’s center did not suffer an ACL tear. Le Progrès reports that « his injury should keep him off the court for only three to five weeks. » While he won’t play again in EuroLeague this season, he will return in time for the Betclic ELITE playoffs.
No reunion with Evan Fournier this Tuesday at LDLC Arena
In the meantime, coach Pierric Poupet and his staff will have to rely on Andre Roberson, Ben Bentil, Neal Sako, Tariq Black and possibly Paul Mbiya or even David Lighty (as a stretch power forward) in the frontcourt. This starts Tuesday evening against Olympiacos, the EuroLeague leader, at LDLC Arena.
