Making his first media appearance since the premature end of his sophomore season, Victor Wembanyama (7’4″, 21 years old) didn’t want to go into details about his deep vein thrombosis, but addressed the possibility of playing in EuroBasket 2025, scheduled for late August and early September, with Team France.

Victor Wembanyama won’t wear the Spurs jersey again this season, his second NBA campaign having ended abruptly after a deep vein thrombosis in his shoulder. Training resumption under close monitoring

Regarding his current fitness level, Wembanyama explained that he has resumed physical activity, but under extremely controlled conditions: « I can do physical exercises, lift weights, and also play basketball, but it’s very controlled and light. Even though sometimes I’d like to do more, I’m following medical directives. »
