Player Profile
Noa Essengue is a young French forward born in Orleans. After starting basketball at ABC Saint-Jean-de-Braye, he joined Orleans Loiret Basket at U13 level. After going through the selection process, he joined the Pole France in 2021.
Quickly recognized as one of the strongest prospects of the 2006 generation, Noa Essengue established himself in Nationale 1 (NM1) and also with the French national team in his age group. After winning bronze at the 2022 U16 EuroBasket, he made the all-tournament team at the 2023 ANGT Belgrade with PFBB. He left Pole France a year early in 2023. Though under contract with ASVEL, Noa Essengue chose to continue his development with a German club. Splitting time between Orange Academy and the professional team - in both Bundesliga and EuroCup - he stood out at the Basketball Without Borders (BWB) Global camp in February 2024 and at the ANGT Dubai. Champion with Ulm, he was named MVP of the tournament with an incredible finals performance (54 efficiency rating) against Zalgiris Kaunas. This has further increased his stock as he's already projected as a first round pick in the 2025 NBA Draft.
