Player Profile
Troy Caupain is an American point guard. Having attended the University of Cincinnati, he spent four seasons with the Bearcats, posting solid statistics (9.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.7 assists on average) alongside former SIG player Nysier Brooks.
After stints in the G-League and Italy (Udine), he truly launched his European career in 2019-2020 with Hapoel Holon. He already faced SIG Strasbourg in BCL, particularly standing out in the return match (11 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists).
Signed by Belgian club Ostende just before lockdown, he really made his mark in Germany with Ulm in 2020-2021 (13.4 points, 4.6 assists and 4 rebounds on average across 56 games in all competitions). He continued his rise with Darussafaka in Turkey (12.5 points, 5.9 assists and 4.4 rebounds in 2021-2022), before joining Brescia in Italy (2022-2023) and then Murcia in Spain.
Despite a strong 2023-2024 season marked by participation in the BCL Final Four and a Liga Endesa playoff final alongside Yannis Morin, strong competition at the point guard position in Murcia (15 minutes average) led him to seek a new challenge for the 2024-2025 season. SIG Strasbourg presented itself as an ideal opportunity and the Alsatian club announced his signing on February 11, 2025.
